The 50th Anniversary is approaching!
We are mere days away from the 50th anniversary at Walt Disney World.
Today we are here to remind you of all the celebrations happening at the four Walt Disney World theme parks.
Magic Kingdom
At Magic Kingdom, guests can view the new nighttime spectacular “Enchantment” that will debut this Friday, October 1st.
Guests will be able to see even more EARidescent merchandise in the Main Street Emporium.
Disney has also shown concept art of a pixie dust glow coming to Cinderella Castle that can be viewed nightly starting October 1st.
Following October 1st, celebrations will continue with the Main Street Confectionary reopening from renovations, this Saturday, October 2nd. It has been confirmed that new sweets and treats will be available upon reopening, so if you’re in the parks for the anniversary make sure to stop by and take a peek at what's new!
Epcot
At Epcot, guests will be able to experience the new nighttime show Harmonious! This show is a part of the huge reimagining of Epcot announced at the 2019 D23 Expo.
Spaceship Earth will join the beacons of light experience debuting new lights within the reflective panels of the sphere that will “symbolize beacons of possibility and optimism”.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be open to the public on October 1st for the 50th Anniversary. Previously the attraction was able to be previewed by Cast Members, Disney Vacation Club members, and Passholders through reservation, but now regular day guests will have the opportunity to shrink to the size of our favorite animated rat.
Finally, as recently announced by Disney, the reimagined lands of Epcot names will be in effect for the anniversary. The land housing Test Track and Mission Space now will be called World Discovery. The land housing The Land Pavilion, and The Seas With Nemo and Friends is now named World Nature. And finally, the area that is still under heavy construction World Celebration!
Hollywood Studios
The Hollywood Tower Hotel will join the beacons of light experience shining an EARidescent light down sunset boulevard that will “evoke the glimmer and shimmer of the golden age”.
Animal Kingdom
At Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life joins the beacons of light experience, as “enchanted fireflies” surround the tree to “call forth the magic of nature”.
In addition at Animal Kingdom, an all-new show will debut at Discovery River Amphitheatre called Disney’s KiteTails. The new show will feature beloved Disney songs and Disney character-themed kites. KiteTails will perform daily at 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m
