March Flower and Garden Recap

The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has already been around for 29 days! We have been testing and trying all the food from our original list in the parks all month long. Let's review what we've seen thus far!

Merchandise

With the festival, Disney released some awesome new merchandise. Here's what we've found so far.

Festival gift card wristbands can be found for purchased at a $15 minimum at many festival merchandise booths (we got ours in Canada), the Creations Shop, and the small gift shop outside of spaceship earth. You may reload this gift card at any of these stores. We absolutely love the convenience of this fun park hack!

Experiences

Garden Rocks has started with a bang with their March concert series. On each trip we've made we could hear performances from across the world showcase lagoon. The party vibe is still strong at EPCOT!

New fragrance experience. The Blossoms of Fragrance Presented by Scentsy experience was an amazing addition to the festival lineup this year. We enjoyed smelling flowers and plants that were found in this new location.

The topiaries for Flower and Garden this year are beautiful! Some topiaries have been moved from the world showcase area into the newly named World Nature and World Discovery lands! See photos of these beautiful topiaries below.

Food

We've almost completed our initial must-try list! Here are our quick reviews on these quick snacks!

Bauernmarkt: Farmers Market (Germany)

Eats-

  • Toasted Pretzel Bread topped with Black Forest Ham and Melted Gruyère Cheese- We give this a 2/10 rating. The bread felt hard and the cheese appeared as if it was melted hours before. Was able to eat most of it but would not recommend it.

  • Warm Cheese Strudel with Mixed Berries.- This was a 6/10 for one reporter and an 8/10 for another. The treat lacked the crispiness we usually find in strudels but the mixed berries were a beautiful mix and tasted amazing.

Epcot Sunshine Griddle (Test Track area)

Eats-

  • Avocado Toast with Marinated Toybox Tomatoes on Toasted Ciabatta (plant-based)- This treat is definitely a need to try for yourself treat. One of our reporters loves a good avocado toast and enjoyed this treat at a 9/10. The other felt like. the avocado spread was heavy and uncomfortable leaving it at a 5/10.

  • Fried Cinnamon Roll Bites with Cream Cheese Frosting and Candied Bacon- We gave this treat a 4/10. This dish was edible, it was hard to get a good photo and this was MESSY! The taste was lackluster and the bacon felt out of place.

Flavor Full Kitchen (between Imagination and Refreshment Port)

Beverages-

  • Blood Orange Agua Fresca (non-alcoholic)- This drink was a 7/10. Definitely not a must drink but the flavor mocked an orange juice with a tropical punch mix and it was very refreshing! If you're interested in a non-alcoholic sip to start your drinking around the world this is a great start!

The Honey Bee-stro (Port of Entry)

Eats-

  • Lavender Honey Mustard-marinated Chicken Flatbread with Whipped Honey-Ricotta Cheese, Marinated Vegetables, and Goat Cheese- This dish is definitely what we would consider one of the if not the best dish at the festival 10/10 rating. Flavors run high on this easily shareable chicken flatbread and we enjoyed the crispiness of the thin crust. Unfortunately, we weren't able to snap a photo before digging in but this is a pretty dish to add to your Instagram story!

Beverages-

  • Honey-Peach Freeze in a Souvenir Spike the Bee Sipper Cup (non-alcoholic)- This drink was a 10/10. The freeze was refreshing and the cup is so cute! Please note that this sipper comes prefilled so you may have to let it sit with water back in your hotel room to prevent it from getting sticky.

La Isla Fresca (Near the France Pavilion)

Eats-

  • Arepas topped with Melted Queso Fresco- This dish was a 2/10. Very un-instagramable and it lacked any signature flavors we look for. We combined this with the chorizo dish to make it more edible.

  • Arepa topped with Chorizo- This dish was an 8/10, the chorizo from this booth killed it again! Flavors ran high and we enjoyed the mix. Our only complaint about this dish was the arepas themselves. We may have gotten an older dish as they seemed to be getting a bit hard.

Pineapple Promenade (Port of Entry)

Beverages-

  • Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade (non-alcoholic)- This drink was a 10/10. Perfect and beautiful this small drink reminded us a lot of a certain Encanto character. Any guesses as to who?

Trowel and Trellis (Near Disney Traders)

Eats-

  • Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cassis Mousse, Raspberry Gelato, and Fresh Raspberries (plant-based).- This plant-based cake was exactly what we expected. Earning a rating of 6/10. The gelato on the side was refreshing and the cake was moist and delicious.

  • Boneless Impossible™ Korean Short Rib with Cilantro-Lime Rice, Danmuji Slaw and Kimchee Mayonnaise (plant-based)- This dish earns an 8/10. The plant-based rib surprised us with its smoky flavor and the rice was beyond delicious. Only one reporter had complained of the Kimchee mayonnaise not being the taste they were expecting. Overall this is a great dish.

We can't believe how much we still have left to explore from this festival before its end. Will you be coming to EPCOT's International Flower and Garden Festival before July 4th? What dishes would you like to enjoy? Let us know in the comments below. Thank you so much for reading! Have a magical day :)
